HYBRID BABODILLO

THE BABODILLO

Agile as a baboon and plated like an armadillo, little is known of the babodillo other than its obsessive protection of its vulnerable rear. Sixteenth century woodcarvings show bears and wolves taunting the mute, mouthless creature, actions which were no doubt key to its inevitable extinction.

One of a series of four hybrids, inspired by medieval bestiaries and the mythical creatures associated with cabinets of curiosities that evoke cultural, mythical and historical references with ambiguity.
