The concept of the Native American dream-catcher (that good dreams are trapped in the 'spider's web' and nightmares pass through the holes) is entangled with the dream analyses of Sigmund Freud.
Multi-layered textured black trimmings replace sacred or natural objects, feathers and beads to ensnare some very specific turn-of-the-C20th objects.
This considered selection of period items, including a purse, pipe case, pin cushion and chess pieces, makes specific reference to the sexual symbolism made by Freud in his most famous work: 'The Interpretation of Dreams' (1899).
